Stress and Anxiety Therapy | Kinder to College and Moms
Virtually across Virginia
Some days, it’s all too much...
You're on the cusp of "adulthood" or in college:
There is so much on your plate. Pressure from all angles and the harshest comes from the inside: saying "I should have done better!" or "Don't do it, you'll make a horrible mess of things."
Your mind won't quit. You feel mentally exhausted even before the day has begun.
Inside your body is full of tension- like a coiled spring ready to snap- you likely have snapped on people a time or two, and it eats you up.
You like people BUT social situations make you anxious. You can’t stop the raceway of doubt or constant social replays narrated with “Did that come off right?" and "Why did I do that?”
You're a parent worried about your kid:
You have a deep-feeling child stuck or pulling away from the kid you know them to be.
The constant worry-spiral robs them of the moments that could bring them joy.
You've noticed your teen puts a lot of pressure on themselves to do well in school, often waits until the last minute and blows-up or breaks-down from the stress.
They want a person to talk to that isn't "mom" and you are looking for a therapist that will relate and connect with them.
You're an exhausted mom:
You may be new to this journey of momhood or traveling it for a while but you crave things to be different.
Most days being a mom has left you feeling lonely (seriously..where is the village?), overwhelmed, and unsure how to connect or move through a situation with your kids.
Your inner critic can get so loud: "Am I messing my kids up?" {insert anxiety} "Am I doing enough?" {insert doubt} "I didn't want to show up like that!" {insert guilt}
The mental load creates disconnection; deep inside it may spark a bit of rage. You want things to change but you aren't sure how.
You value learning about parenting, the importance of your role and, showing up for your kids. Yet- it's One. More. Plate. amongst the many spinning above your head.

Ready?
Ready for the next step? Complete an inquiry form to get started. From there, you have a choice to schedule your initial appointment or a free 15-minute consult. The consult is an extra opportunity to ask additional questions and see if our fit feels right.
Set.
Once your first virtual appointment is scheduled, you will receive a Client Portal Welcome Email. The client portal will have paperwork to be completed before the session.
The first session is sharing your journey to where you are today, and what you hope to gain from counseling. The beginning is all about building our relationship so you can feel supported to dig deep later. For parents of younger kids, we meet without your child for the first session. When kids and I begin, the process is much the same, we start by also building our relationship, which is often done through play.
We will discuss the continuation of support during the first session. I encourage weekly to start as it builds consistency and momentum.
Go!
As we work towards your goals we will celebrate the little victories along the way. From pushing back on the thoughts that once made you anxious to "doing that thing" you didn't think you could, we'll build on these successes. You'll feel more confident and connected, turning overwhelming moments into steps toward being yourself again.
Tired of the office vibe?
Let's meet where you are.
Online across Virginia.
You've tried an office, but they can be so formal or it's a whole thing to actually get there. What you crave is support that can meet you where you are. Your life needs the flexibility.
Online therapy means getting the support that you want from anywhere across Virginia.
It means not having to:
bookend time to get there
plan for unpredictable traffic
seek out child care so you can leave
entertain their siblings who don't love waiting rooms
find rides or lose your close spot on campus
"Online counseling for kids?! How does that even work?"
I get it, and it's a great question. Virtual works for kids too! I use play and movement so kids can be kids. Dance party-sure! Sandtray-yes! Drawing-absolutely! Want to show me your favorite picture or your pets? I would be honored.
